Catch up time

I've so bad lately about posting on here. I guess it just seems like all anyone cares about these days in Facebook. But then I have to remember that this is my journal. Even though I do love that maybe there is someone else out there that enjoys reading along with our life, the main purpose is for me to capture the here and now for me and the kids to look back on.

So with that in mind...now where in the heck do I start. I guess I'll just start typing down all the random things going through my head - so this may come in out in no good order at all....
SO Turner is potty trained! I'm sure someone is thinking - well it is about time - but truth be told, I don't have a big issue with pullups, so I really wanted to wait till he was really ready because if not it wasn't worth it for me. Notice that I did only say "potty" trained - he is still have accidents with the "poopy" trained, but he has gone in the pot, just not all the time. But he hasn't had wet pants since we started, so we are very excited.
Mackenzie sometime over the past month has grown up too much for Dora. I don't know when it happened, but all of a sudden when she would want the TV on and I would say "Want me to turn on Dora?" she started saying "No, I want Disney channel (e..g. Hannah Montana, Drake and Josh)" Just another thing that proves my baby is growing up. Next thing I know - Chou Chou is going to be stuffed in the bottom of the closet :( She is done with the Spring season of soccer. We decided not to do t-ball this year. She is much more in to soccer, and it just seemed like we would just be doing it to do it.
Austin is growing like a weed. He understands just about everything these days and he is imitating words. He is proving to be just as much "boy" as Turner. Everything turns in to a gun around the house and he goes around pointing and going "Phst phst". He also morphs in to a dinosaur randomly and will start "roaring" at us.
Aaron and I are exhausted from school. This last week was my last week and Aaron had school every day on top of his night school. But now that week is done and I am on my 2 week break. Next up is Finance - whooo hoooo!
We are getting ready for the inlaws to come visit and can't wait. I just can't wait to see them get to "meet" the kids all over again. I see them change week to week, so in 6 months are practically completely different kids.
I still don't have my camera back from my bro, so no new pics :( Hopefully we will get it back soon and I will be clicking away!

Happy Father's Day

It is late and I'm tired, but have to take a moment to tell you what a wonderful father my husband is. Aaron surpasses my expectations everyday. The fact that he has this time at home with the kids is such a true gift we have been given. And the fact that he sees it that way too makes it even better. These kids love their daddy. We fit as a family so seamless and easy. His feature "Family Fun Days" will be a family tradition for years and years to come. I love you so much sweetheart and can't even find the words to express how much you mean to me.
The kids were so excited for Father's Day this year. We got daddy a new big tent. It was supposed to be a surprise, but then on Wednesday, Aaron was looking for his phone and Turner said "maybe it is in your new tent" Mackenzie was pretty upset that the surprise had been ruined but we told her not to worry about it because it was still a surprise what it looked like. Tonight everyone got to make their own speciality homemade pizza and we had gotten an ice cream cake which we decided to keep a secret....well, Turner of course blew that one too. But then we played it off like he was just talking about a "pretend cake" and surprised him with it later! It was so cute to see the whole thing. I have so much to post about other stuff, but right now I just really want to snuggle up with my honey and enjoy my time, so I'm gonna log off.
PS - my sister is here to visit for the week before her surgery!!! Yea, I LOVE my little sis, and love having her around.

Why I love my family

Because last night for no reason whatsoever, we decided to set up daddy's father's day gift of a new tent and have a camp out right in our backyard with smores, scary (silly) stories, flashlights, hotdogs, a beer and all at about 9 o'clock last night after baths. Why? - you may ask - well I ask right back - why the heck not! It was a nice night, we haven't been camping yet this year, we have a big tent now, and the kids asked. Aaron came home from school and found us outside, set down his bag and joined right in without even a sideways glance. I strung my alarm clock out by an extension cord and we were all set. I feel so refreshed today from it. It was so calming and waking up to the sounds of the outside this morning was wonderful.

And this is why my family is the perfect family for me!

Finally, some pictures of Mexico

Here are some of our pictures from Mexico. We also have more that our neighbors took, but I'm still waiting to get those.

Here are some other fun people we met while there. This was a hilarious night - purely entertaining.

This was us trying to catch the sunrise one day, but missed it by a few minutes. We did end up making it the next day in time (Cheri has those pictures).

Cheri and I used our spa credit for hour long massages. We spent the 45 minutes before in the steam room and sauna - it was wonderful.

This is Aaron and I skimming the water while we were parasailing.
Aaron, my brother Allen, sister in law Ashley, and me
This is a pretty good representation of how I wish I could spend everyday. This is pretty much my perfect day. Lying on the beach, book in hand. Now just insert drink in hand and the kids playing in the sand, and it would be perfect.
So relaxing.

This picture was taken as soon as we got there.

Early in the morning on the shuttle to the airport.
This trip really reiterated that we would make fabulous rich people!!!!

It doesn't even feel like I went on vacation, how can that be, it has only been 2 days. Oh wait, never mind, the tightness of the clothes - even my shoes - is the constant reminder that I ate too much and had too many fatty drinks. Ughhhh. I don't have pictures because my brother has my camera. We met up to go parasailing together on our last day there. Their camera had broken while on vacation, so I told them to just take ours to use for the rest of vacation and bring it back to me when they are up this way in a week. They get home today, so hopefully sometime tomorrow they will send the pictures through. Maybe I just need to see it to believe it and the good memories will come flooding back. I promise I'll give a play by play of the vacation with pics soon. Since we have been back I've been in such a horrible mood. Well, when I'm at work and school. At home, I'm fine. Last night it stormed really good and Mackenzie and Turner were scared so we all cuddled up on the couch together to fall asleep. It was such a good feeling. I hope they still climb in to bed with me when they are teenagers when a storm scares them!

Ariba Ariba

That is Mexican right. Anyways, i could care less because tomorrow at this very time I am going to be on the plane to MEXICO!!! I can't even begin to express how stinkin excited i am. Everything today is "tomorrow at this time I'll be....." My dad is coming up tonight and taking us out to dinner so tonight will go quickly. Then I'm going to lay in bed with my babies until they go to sleep, because we will be gone by the time they wake up tomorrow. I had a 10 pg paper and a presentation last night at school - which kept me busy and makes the vacation even more needed. Plus my baby sis was in the hospital all weekend up here in StL, so I spent lots of time up there. (She is home and all fine right now!)
I just can't really believe we are going on this trip. All from a simple conversation with our neighbors over dinner while the kids were at a church babysitting night. Scott and Cheri are going to be the perfect couple to travel with. They are just as laid back and fun as we are....well ALMOST. I mean Aaron and i are the coolest cats on the block! LOL See can you tell in my writing I'm just giddy with excitement. I absolutely cannot wait to have endless uninterrupted time with Aaron. This is going to be like a second honeymoon!!!! ahhhhh...naps...frozen drinks....swim up bar.... Oh and did I tell you all, by complete luck - not planned - my brother and his wife get in to Cancun tomorrow too and it looks like their hotel is literally right next door to ours! How cool huh. I think we are going to try to hook up with them and do some para sailing one day.
Oh and we are NOT taking our computer, or cells, so you'll have to wait until we get back to get updates. If there were an extreme emergency - the website of the resort is on the blog and I'm sure they could track us down. Check back next week for the picture overload!
